What is the cost of separation counselling?

If the counselling is to be undertaken by a couple together, the initial assessment session is £60 per couple. Following sessions are then £65 per couple.

If the counselling is to be undertaken by individuals, sessions are £50 each.

How does it work?

Relationship counselling for couples is there to help support you both. It’s a talking therapy intervention for anyone experiencing relationship issues.

At the very least, counselling helps to ease a difficult situation, smooth a path or clear the way for open and honest communication in a calm and adult way.

It’s about enabling conversation for you both to talk about the things that you value most, without judgement.

It’s about encouraging and simplifying positive talk and understanding.

Counselling is about people making their own changes in their lives to achieve positive outcomes but it’s only achievable if both partners are ready or willing to talk about it.

If a couple decide to separate then they may wish to undertake separation counselling, which seeks to ensure the transition is processed and managed to make it as smooth as possible. This type of counselling can be undertaken as a couple, to work through the steps of separating in a way that works for both parties or it may be undertaken separately as individuals work through the adjustment.

What does it involve?

Both of you will meet with Kate in a room together for 50 minutes every week and talk through whatever is going on in your relationship. She will mediate to ensure both of you are given the chance to express yourselves about the issues with the aim of finding a way to communicate going forward and healing your relationship.
